Our work focuses on climate modelling to develop a better understanding of climate variability from grass root to regional scale. We study the risks and vulnerabilities of key sectors such as water, agriculture etc. Through a number of initiatives, we are beginning to extend our knowledge and research in climate science and policy to the government. We strengthen capacity to integrate climate change risk reduction strategies into development policies and programmes. Develop better-adapted policies and programmes that support planned and autonomous adaptive strategies. Institutional mechanisms for integrating, monitoring and evaluating adaptation across sectors and scales to enhance the adaptive capacity of communities to address climate change risks. In particular we work with women and vulnerable groups, to enhance their livelihoods by strengthening skill development and education, thereby reducing their vulnerability. We push towards making governments more accountable and transparent and integrate climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction into long-term development planning strategies.
